Celebration of Life to the most Amazing Father & Grandpa there ever was!

These pictures were taken on Thanksgiving 2019. We all went to visit my mom's grave. It had been several years that we were all together visiting my mom's grave. It was a beautiful day and just perfect that we could all be together. Who would have thought that a year later my sweet daddy would be laying next to my mom after 23yrs of waiting to be with her. I wouldn't have believed it. My brain defiantly mental blocks it out. My brain really does not want to accept that he is really gone. My heart however is at peace knowing he is with my mom and all the other loved ones that have passed on. Each day does get a little better.
So here's to celebrating my daddy's truly amazing life!!
While we mourn the loss of our father and best friend we celebrate the life of the beautiful person he was and how he lived his life! He returned home to our Heavenly Father on Jan 1, 2121. We celebrated his amazing life in his home town in Santa Clara, UT on Jan 16, 2021.
These photos were from the day before his funeral service Friday afternoon. We got to dress him. What a beautiful and spiritual experience. So special to share this moment with my siblings and Janeen. I felt a little at peace seeing him. The entire time while he was in the hospital none of us could go to the hospital to see him or talk to him. So seeing him gave me some closure. The mortician then brought out all the flowers and plants that were sent to us.  We were in awe! We read every card aloud and enjoyed sharing memories of daddy! Also while we were there together, Janeen brought all my dad's ties for us to pick out for each of the grandkids and son's to wear the next day at his funeral service. We were honored! The ties were a very special touch! The kids were all so proud to wear one of grandpa's ties! Cash especially love it!
My part in the funeral arrangements was to do the display tables and the slide show. I was honored to showcase my dad in his celebration of life! It was so much work but very therapeutic. Going through all the photos of stages of my daddy's life was amazing. He lived a great life! Full of hard work and hard play! and all his playing was always was us kids! He loved us and loved creating memories with us our whole life! The display tables turned out beautifully! The slide show was prefect! It was just under 2hrs of celebrating my daddy! It was heart wrenching to watch when the music played with it! WOW the power of music! I'm  honored to be his daughter!
More of the beautiful display tables! Oh how I love this beautiful man and miss him immensely!
The next couple of collages are from the viewing! So many family and friends traveled to support us and celebrate our father! It is so hard to say goodbye! It was so wonderful to hear how they knew our daddy and all the fun stories they shared with us about him. We truly celebrated his life in the best way possible. We know he was there in Spirit with us. It really was a beautiful and peaceful day!
Gathering around my daddy before the casket was closed. We each got to take some time as individual families to say goodbye to our father and grandpa! Blair shared some stories of daddy and gave the most beautiful family prayer!
After the viewing we went to the grave for the graveside service. When we arrived the bagpipes were a playing. I totally lost it. All my dad would say to us our whole life is that he only wanted bagpipes  playing at his funeral. His wishes came true and it was beautiful. Daddy was defiantly smiling down and loving those bagpipes! They were beautiful! He served his mission in Ireland and fell in love with the Irish folk. From mission on he has had a love for bagpipes. I love them too and whenever I hear them I will always think of my daddy! The pallbearer's were perfect. The pallbearers ranged from son, son n laws, brother, cousins and grandsons. I know my little Cash was honored to help  and walk along side his grandpa.
These are the photos from the graveside service. The Santa Clara Bishop resided and shared some opening remarks. My sister Eryka gave the most beautiful opening prayer to start the service. My brother Ryan then shared the most amazing eulogy and celebration of life tribute to our dad! After Ryan we had the bagpipes play a special musical number "Danny Boy"  my dad's request our whole life. He wanted this song specifically played at his funeral service.  :) After the special bagpipe musical number then our cousin Mark shared a wonderful letter from my dad's brother, Uncle Jim that is serving as a mission president and couldn't make it. After Mark then my dad's brother, Uncle Greg gave the most beautiful dedication of grave prayer. The entire graveside service was perfection. We truly celebrated our father in the best way possible! He was loved by so many and he showed love to so many! He truly showed pure Christ like love to all!
Once the glorious service was complete we took several photos and shared many stories around my dad! Even his 19 special little grandkids took pictures and shared memories with their grandpa around his casket. My dad  loved being a grandpa. He loved his grandkids so much and was always so proud of them. I will never forget that he never missed one of little Penny's performances and I will always miss him now going forward when it comes to that for sure. He loved watching little Penny perform! He would call her his "singing angel."
As the grave side workers laid daddy to rest next to my mom we enjoyed the bagpipes together and danced a jig in honor of our sweet daddy! We truly had a wonderful and peaceful day with family and friends honoring and celebrating daddy's life!

The part below is my fb post that I posted the day after of my dad's passing. I wanted it here so I can print it off and have forever.
To all those that knew and loved my dad! He had been in the hospital for 10+ days with severe pneumonia in his lungs as result of Covid- he had been hanging on and fighting as hard as he can- but last night he started showing signs of fatigue and his body shutting down! Janeen was able to go down and be by his side in his time of need- thank you for being there for him and holding his hand.
I’m so sad to say last night at 11:45pm my daddy passed peacefully to the other side.
What gets me through is I have Faith in my Lords plan. I know my Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us and it must have been my dad’s time to return home. He has waited 23yrs to be with my mom and what a glorious reunion in heaven they are having. I know I will see and be with my dad and mom again. My heart hurts. I am numb. It truly is unbelievable but I am humbled and feel at peace.
I love you daddy! Thank you for being the greatest example to me! Thank you for holding us all together! For being my mom and my dad! You truly are the most amazing person! I will continue to carry on the memories and traditions with my kids in honor of you! I’ll never look at a box of See’s Candy, hear bagpipes or watch a western movie the same.
Thank you for loving my kids like you did! They sure did love their grandpa John and will miss your big bear hugs. They haven’t stopped sharing their special memories with you. You have impacted all of us and have left a big mark on our hearts. God be with you till me meet again.
Anyone who has ever met And known my dad will never forget him- He made that big of a mark on you with his big bear hugs and loving spirit about him. He was truly a one of a kind. I know he loved me and encouraged me to live without limits and trust in the Lord wholeheartedly! He loved his kids and grandkids and took advantage of every opportunity to be part of their lives. Hunting, fishing, sand dunes, lake trips, swimming parties, birthdays, baptism, penny’s performances -he never missed them- and Always cooked for us the best meals. We have sure been spoiled in the 1,000’s of get togethers & trips together! He lived for his family!
I Love you so much Dad!! I can’t wait for the day till I get to see you and Mom again!
Had to capture the the hard work of the display from my home! My dad always laughed and teased me that our pool table was used for more projects and not for actual playing pool! Just as my mom did with ours growing up! My mom always had a picture project going on the pool table! lol And here we go again! The pool table was put to great use doing my daddy's display table! lol I know he was laughing and smiling down on me while I was working on it for him! I love you daddy so much! You truly were the greatest person in my life! I'm honored to be your daughter forever! I can't wait for the day to be with you and mom again for eternity!
My brother shared my dad's eulogy he wrote so that all those that read my blog can read this too. Also so I when I print my blog off the eulogy will always be with the post about my daddy's celebration of life. I don't know how my brother was able to write and read this at daddy's graveside service. There wasn't a dry eye in the crowd. So meaningful and such special words he shared with us all about our father. Enjoy! Daddy truly was one of kind! He left his mark on all! Love you daddy forever!

Baby Vaughn Adam!

Welcome to the world Baby Vaughn Adam! I'm and auntie again! My sister got covid on Dec 12th being 33wks pregnant. After going to the ER twice because of covid complications and being sent home each time. Finally on then 3rd trip to the ER they kept her. She was in critical condition with covid when they finally  admitted her. They had to take her baby emergency c-section on Dec 20, 2020. Baby Vaughn Adam came screaming into the world at 34 weeks and was rushed off to the NICU. My poor sister never even got to hold him or even touch him. As soon as they completed the c- section she was rushed back down to the icu to be treated in critical care for covid. She fought hard and was able to bust out of the hospital on Christmas Eve. Sadly baby Vaughn had to stay in the Nicu. Finally after 17 days in the Nicu with my sister not able to see him until she was covid free my sister finally got to meet and hold her baby for the first time! I can't even imagine! Both baby Vaughn and my sister are doing great. Both home and healthy from the hospital. Eryka is healing and feeling so much better. Baby Vaughn Adam weighed 6.8 lbs and 19 in long! He is just perfect! So much hair! He completes Eryka's family being her 6th baby! My sister is a super women! I have never known a stronger woman as her. She is a true fighter! So proud of her! We have had such a whirl wind of a December that I didn't get to posting about this. I'm so happy and relieved that both Eryka and Vaughn are doing great and healthy. Seriously such an emotional Dec and Jan! Ugh We love you Baby Vaughn! Welcome to the Family!

Hayes' Baptism!

It's great to be 8!! Last weekend we went to Utah for my sweet little nephew (Cash's bff) Haye's Baptism! What a beautiful day it was! Haye's asked me to give a talk on the Holy Ghost! I brought him a bag full of surprises that went along with my Holy Ghost talk. He loved it! I loved giving the talk too! He is such a special sweet boy! My Cash sure looks up to him and loves him so much! They are the best of friends! We are so proud of Haye's decision to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints! He is setting such a great example to my kids! Although it was hard to not have our daddy/grandpa there in person we could definitely feel him there in spirit. I love being around family! It was good to see and be around all of them extended family too! After the baptism my Aunt Jill and Uncle Greg did a luncheon for the family! Yummy amazing soups! Thank you for a much needed weekend together with family feeling the spirit and our Saviors love! We are so proud of you Hayes! Happy 8th Birthday! Happy Baptism day too!

Amazing friends!

Do you know what I love! That's good friends that are there for you when you are in need! Last Monday night we got a call from my little sister Eryka that her husband was in the er with possible covid complications and my sister Eryka was already up in the nicu feeding her baby at the hospital. Her 5 kids were home alone and it was her 2nd son's 8th Birthday too!  We rushed up to St George to help with her kids while both parents were in the hospital. What a whirlwind of emotions we have all been put through the last few days and weeks. We didn't want to take the kids up to Utah with us since they still may be covid positive so my sweet friend Liz watched Cash, Piper and Ruby and Jackie had Penny! Thank you for helping us so we could help my sister. My brother n law ended up getting scans and blood work done and everything came back good. Thank goodness! We have been put through way to much lately! Love my family and my friends so much!

Happy 4th Birthday Piper!!!

Happy 4th Birthday my sweet little Piper Rae! It was finally Piper's actually Birthday! lol You know how I like to celebrate them for a few days leading up to their Birthday! Well little Piper woke up to tons of presents, balloons and even her bedroom decorated! Penny and her little friends and bff cousin decorated Piper's room so good! Little Piper loved it!!
Piper loves babies, barbies, purses, makeup, baby clothes and strollers! Really anything! She got all that and her very 1st Bike! She picked out her Unicorn cake! She just loved her little cake! Daddy made an amazing dinner! Steak and fried rice! We had the best day celebrating Piper!! She truly is just the best! She has the cutest little personality! She is loving and sweet and sometimes a little salty! lol I can't believe she is 4!!! Oh how the time flies by! My baby is 4! She completes our family perfectly! We love you sweet Piper! We hope you had the best 4th Birthday ever!

Piper's 4th Birthday Party!

The show must go on! and that was Piper's 4th Birthday Party! So the next day after we got the devastating news of my dad's passing was Piper's 4th birthday party! It was already planned so we continued through with it. You just have to keep yourself moving! and that's what we did! We celebrated Piper's 4th birthday at the Uptown Jungle Jump! We love it there! The kids had blast! It made me smile to see their faces happy and smiling! So many of Piper's little friends came to play and show their love and support to me. My cousins from Utah even came down to show me love! Thank you for that! I needed to be around each of you after my devastating news. You all bring me peace, comfort and strength!  I feel your love daily!
After Uptown Jungle Jump we went back to my house for Presents, Pizza and Cupcakes! Birthdays so close to Christmas are hard and especially after getting terrible news of daddy. But I know she had the best day! Happy 4th Birthday Piper! We love you!

New Year's Day!

We do what we do every New Year's Day and that is kick on Piper's Birthday week! We always start our day at Eddie's (old Macayo's) with my family! My brother couldn't come cause he had to work since my dad was still in the hospital! but Eryn and Joanna met us there! Yay! We had an enjoyable time! After Eddie's we went to visit my brother at the Lab! From there we went to my brother's house and visited with Em and the boys! We even snagged the boys for the rest of the day! We had such a great day with family! Being with family soothes my heart and eases my mind!
Later in the night on 1-1-21 we received the devastating news that my father passed away. After being in the hospital for 11 days with covid complications he left us to go back home to live with our Heavenly Father! We are deeply sadden and not sure how we will ever be able to go on. What eases my mind and does bring me some peace is knowing he has returned to be with my mom after 23years of her passing. What a joyous reunion for them! My dad was the most amazing man I know.  He was always so strong and brave. I could call him to talk about anything and he always new just what to say to ease me. He was my mom and my dad. He lived for his family! He is the definition of work hard and play hard. And his playing was always with his family. He was the most loving and caring man. When you met him he definitely left a mark and an impact on you. He showed Christ like love to all. I am grateful for the plan of salvation. I know I will get to see and be with my dad and my mom again one day. I love you daddy! Give momma all the hugs and kisses from me! God be with you, until we meet again.
Here is my dad's obituary if you missed seeing it. The words are just perfect! Best man I know!

Obituary

John R. Ence

John Robert Ence, age 73, died Friday, January 1, 2021 in Henderson, Nevada.  He was born March 21, 1947 in Santa Clara, Utah to Kenneth and Anneliese Flora Buggert Ence.

John grew up in Santa Clara, Utah.  He had 3 brothers, with whom he enjoyed playing cowboys and Indians. His love for the Wild West continued on into his adult life. When the TV was on, you could bet he was watching an old Western movie.  He was the peacemaker in his childhood home, where he adopted the name “John the beloved”.  John learned the importance of hard work at an early age, from laboring alongside his dad and brothers in their garden, milking the cow, picking peaches, and hauling hay. He was employed as an attendant at his father’s service station, the Ken Ence Chevron, until he was called to serve a full-time mission in Ireland for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Upon returning home, John attended college at Dixie, where he met and fell in love with a beautiful song leader named Penny Rae Bauer. They were a matched set, and they knew it from the first time they met! John continued his education at Southern Utah State College, then attended North Pacific Dental College to pursue his career as a dental lab technician.

He launched his career in Las Vegas, Nevada where he owned and operated his family dental laboratory until his very last days, with his son Ryan and his cousin Blair Mummey. He was very talented at his trade, a dedicated man to his business, and cherished the doctor relationships that he developed over time. He balanced and modeled the “work hard, play hard” motto to the fullest.

On June 30, 1972, he married his love Penny Rae Bauer in the St. George LDS Temple. They built their life in Las Vegas, NV where they raised their 4 children (Ryan, Eryn, Emylee and Eryka) together with Penny’s mom Shirley. John and Penny were inseparable and loved many happy years, until she preceded him in death on November 29, 1997.  Penny’s passing was very difficult for John, but on September 13, 2003, John married Janeen Taylor in the Las Vegas LDS Temple, and she brought the much-needed love, companionship and joy back into his life. Together they raised her 3 children (Ali, Casey, and Emily), along with John’s loyal and trusty companion, his dog Gus. Janeen was the light of John’s life, and together they made many wonderful memories with their children and grandchildren.

John was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he enjoyed serving in various callings and the one he enjoyed most were the years he served as the Bishop of the Eastridge Ward in the Sunrise Stake. He touched and helped many lives as the Bishop.

He lived life to the fullest. He loved experiencing the next adventure and planning the next trip.  He loved the outdoors, boating, fishing, camping, hunting with the boys, ATVs at the sand dunes, days spent in his backyard by the pool, cooking a great breakfast and barbecuing. He loved the mornings and the beautiful sunrises. He loved most sharing these moments with his family and friends. He welcomed all to come be a part of any experience, and always made everyone feel loved and included.
John was a gentle giant and an amazing example of love, Christlike kindness, acceptance, joy, generosity, tenderness, compassionate, gentleness, happiness, hardworking, dedicated, and committed. He was a great big tease, fun loving, and he didn’t let things get him down and maintained a positive attitude that everything would and will be fine.  To know him was to love him. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife Janeen of Las Vegas; two sons and five daughters: Ryan (Emileanne) Ence; Eryn (Joanna) Ence both of Henderson, NV; Emylee (Chad) Bierstedt of Las Vegas, NV; Eryka (Adam) Monson of Ivins, UT; Ali (Randy) Stalter of Sharon, TN; Casey (Tessa) Kingsland of Boiling Springs, SC; Emily (Andrew) Heaton of Cedar City, UT; 19 grandchildren, Chancellor, Maverick, Penny, Cash, Piper, Zane, Hayes, Enya, Fenix, Niels, Vaughn, Madison, Carson, Samantha, Avery, Maggie, Cole, Finn and Hannah; two brothers: James (Debbie) Ence and Gregory (Jill) Ence both of Santa Clara, UT.   He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Anneliese Ence, his brother Kenneth, and his first wife Penny.
